Opportunity to join our dedicated Mental Health Team based in Walsall. We are looking for a diligent proactive Legal Secretary who enjoys a fast paced environment, juggling multi priorities working for a dedicated team of Lawyers specialising in Court of Protection and Mental Health Law. Training will be given.

Departmental Office Assistant

This an exciting opportunity for someone with the skills and ambition to start a career in the legal sector with a highly regarded multi-service law firm based in Walsall working within the Mental Health Department.

The position would suit an  enthusiastic person looking to develop skills by joining a thriving department whose Lawyers represent vulnerable members of society with  a team committed to delivering high quality assistance and representation to all those that need it.

You will have responsibilities in assisting the Legal Assistants team and you will be learning the basics of a busy legal office, working within the Mental Health Department. Training will be provided whilst you work.

Ideally you will have successfully completed a recognised secretarial course, have qualifications in Business Administration or have at least one year’s office experience. You must be a proficient audio/typist with speeds of 40-50 wpm, a good knowledge of Microsoft word, have good organisational skills and a professional telephone manner with a positive attitude and a keenness to learn.

Court of Protection Solicitor

Due to expansion, our Walsall office is looking for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join our busy Mental Health department, dealing mainly with legal aid cases concerning health and welfare decisions. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act would be welcomed but not essential.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Driving license required.

Mental Health Lawyer

The Star Legal Walsall office in the West Midlands is seeking a mental health lawyer (3yrs + PQE) to undertake tribunal and related legal work on behalf of detained patients.

Our mental health department in Walsall is very busy and expanding, and has a strong team ethos.

Star Legal's Fishponds Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Private Client Solicitor/Legal Executive

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified private client lawyer to join growing team at our Fishponds office.

The role will be working alongside the existing Private Client team in preparing wills and lasting powers of attorney. The successful candidate will be a team player, who is confident, friendly and professional in dealing with clients.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Drafting of Wills and Trusts
  • Preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney for new and existing clients.

An ideal candidate will have good technical proficiency and IT skills and would be required to work exclusively within the firm's case management system.

The role is for an initial temporary contract with a possibility of a permanent position extending to Full Time.

Terms will be commensurate with the role and experience. The position is available on either a salaried or consultancy basis.

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior private client lawyer to join our existing team in our Clevedon office.

We are looking for a talented lawyer with 5+ years’ PQE, who wants to progress their career by moving to an exciting and expanding regional firm. The role will bring a varied and interesting workload which includes dealing with probates, and preparing wills and lasting powers of attorney. The successful candidate will be a team player, who is confident, friendly and professional in dealing with clients.

We are looking for someone who has an excellent grounding in this area of practice and who is enthusiastic about further developing their skills and experience in Private Client law.  Being STEP qualified (or part-qualified) would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Terms will be commensurate with the role and experience. The position is available on either a salaried or consultancy basis.
