Family/Care Department Fee Earner

Our busy law firm is in search of a talented and committed Childcare/Family NQ Solicitor with proven advocacy skills. Experience and a good working knowledge in privately and publicly funded Childcare/Family Law are essential for this role. 

This role may appeal to Trainee Solicitor or Paralegal with similar experience wishing to gain a training contract and your chosen path is to qualify as a Family/Care Lawyer.  

Joining an existing team you will be a highly motivated individual committed to a career in Family/Care Law and have experience of working within Family Law to provide a challenging variety of duties that involve assisting Solicitors with their caseload, including preparing and drafting pleadings, statements, documents and briefs.   You will communicate with clients and professionals and be capable of working with little supervision.                                                              

You will need some specific skills:

  • Ability to work as part of a team is essential  To work on own initiative
  • Advocacy skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills/Diary Management
  • Attention to detail
  • Work well  under pressure 
  • At least one year experience in public care proceedings

Hours of work:   9.00 am – 5.00 p.m.  Monday to Friday (but you must be flexible and additional hours will be necessary on occasion.)

Star Legal's Aldridge Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Residential Property Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Are you approachable with a positive and upbeat attitude able to work I a team to build and maintain working relationships?

We are looking to recruit a person with 2 years’ experience of working in a residential conveyancing department dealing with matters from start to completion.  You will be familiar with legal terms and documents and completing forms or orders on-line. You will actively support a busy conveyancing team and have the ability to hit the ground running.

You will need to:

  • you will need to possess good time management skills and be dependable
  • Strong spelling and grammar skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills both face to face and by telephone
  • The ability to work under pressure, be able to prioritise and meet deadlines.

This position is based at our Aldridge office with free  parking available.

Star Legal's Portishead Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Residential Property Lawyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified, experienced residential property lawyer to join our expanding Portishead office on a full-time basis.

Ideally, you will have recent experience working in another South West based law firm and good relationships with local estate agents, but this is not as important as strong technical skills, excellent client care and a collaborative, team-based approach to working.

You will need to have at least 3 to 5 years PQE in residential property and an efficient and well organised approach to managing client work.  You will have a professional, friendly and reassuring approach to dealing with clients, as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise work.

You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with local estate agents (existing connections would be an advantage, but is less important than the ability to develop and nurture relationships with estate agents).

Strong IT skills using Microsoft Office are essential and prior experience of using case management systems would be advantageous.

Residential Property Secretary / Assistant

We are looking for an experienced conveyancing secretary/assistant to join our expanding Portishead office on a full-time basis.

Ideally, you will have experience of working in the residential property department of a local law firm, but prior experience of the Portishead market is less important than your expertise in assisting with residential property work and your excellent secretarial and organisational skills.

You will need strong word-processing and audio-typing skills and must have experience of using Microsoft Office.  Prior experience of using case management systems would be advantageous, but is not essential.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and on the telephone, and will have a friendly, reassuring approach to dealing with clients.

You will be adaptable and able to work calmly under pressure, in what can be a fast-paced environment.

Star Legal's Clifton Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Commercial Property Lawyer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial property lawyer to join our Clifton office.

The role is suitable for a newly qualified to 3 year's PQE in commercial property practice, and will bring a varied workload of commercial property work, including sales and purchases, lease extensions and advising clients on a range of commercial property matters. 

This role will be ideal for someone starting their qualified career in commercial property, who is looking to move to an exciting and growing firm and an existing, experienced commercial property team.  A sound understanding and grasp of all aspects of commercial property and a solid grounding in drafting property documents is crucial to the role, together with a commercial attitude and positive approach. This is an excellent career opportunity with scope for progression, within a supportive team in Clifton.

Conveyancing Assistant

We are delighted to be looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our busy conveyancing department based in Clifton, Bristol.  

The responsibilities for this role will initially be post-exchange and will include:  

Exchange letters, preparing files for completion, carrying out pre-completion searches, calculating
completion statements and liaising with estate agents, clients and lenders.

You will also deal with applications for registrations and any requisitions, retentions, file closure and
archiving, general administration and assisting with generating new conveyancing quotations, producing Client Engagement letters and new client packs, answering
telephones and taking messages

Salary will be market rate and commensurate with experience.
