Experience

David has a wealth of experience in property law, advising clients on all aspects of development, regeneration, investment, purchases and lettings.

David is able to advise on a wide range of property matters, including option/promotion agreements, joint ventures and development agreements as well as sales, purchases and lettings of both commercial and mixed use properties.

Background

After reading Classics at Oxford University, David spent over 20 years (most of them as a partner) in London at Rowe and Maw (now Mayer Brown). In 1998 he moved to Bristol to join Burges Salmon as a partner in their Real Estate team with special responsibility for development projects. His clients include landowners, developers, investors and occupiers, as well as local authorities and other public sector entities.

Described in a recent edition of the Legal 500 as “very responsive, very practical and very knowledgeable”, David has been deeply involved in the property industry. For several years he was Chair of the South West and Wales Chapter of the British Council for Offices as well as being a member of the Property Investment Forum. His interest in regeneration and sustainability saw him join the UK Green Building Council where he remains an active member.
